Some were policy banners, some were "nicities" such as "have a great day at work". I went all out and scripted a solution whereby that logon banner would select from one of 30 different logon banners in a text file randomly.It took hours to figure out a way to do that. It was approved up through the chain of command and I was given the go-ahead to proceed. Much like networks of old, a pop-up when you sign on that basically says "by signing on to this network you agree to abide by our network and computer use policies". Reminds me of my previous place of work, where I asked the boss (manager) and he asked his boss (director of IT) for approval to put a logon banner in to play. I will suggest/test/try what I can from the above and see what solution we can come up with. It's almost ridiculous the special treatment.

if ti were my call I'd simply say "learn to use a PC to unify everything, or start updating your resume".

frankly I think if you choose/demand to use a Mac based on pre-conceived notions that somehow Photoshop works better on a Mac (which is a joke) then you should also have to suffer the minor issues with running that Mac, not have an entire IT department jump through hoops, buy special software, and implement a solution to satisfy 6 users. I am not sure what the arguement against using webmail is exactly. Yes it seems like a lot of trouble to me as well just to get email. and the eventual turfing of it all together. (re-phrasing what I was just told) apparently resulting in support calls to MS. Well I can't speak from experience but the last endeavour here using Entourage 2008 here caused so much network traffic it was problematic in a big way. The Macs are joined to the domain using ADmitMac, so I am just wondering if anyone out there has accomplished this? It would save me installing Paralells, and Windows 7, and Office within (and potentially using additional licenses) which I could avoid if I could get Mac Mail to do what it really should? It is not populating Mail with anything that exists in my mail account on the Exchange server (inbox/sent/etc) and ICalendar also has no entries.

I am wondering, since the only purpose of the Paralells install with XP (moving to Windows 7 on the new machines) is to run Outlook, is it possible to make Mac Mail work with Exchange properly? It allows me to select Exchange 2007 as the type of server, I've filled out the appropriate server names and filled out my credentials to test. As it stands we install Paralells and within there we run Windows XP, seemingly for no other reason than to allow those particular end-users to connect to Exchange for their email AS WELL AS their Exchange calendars. I am currently in the process of setting up new/replacement Macs for those users. We have 6 or 8 Macs in our organization for the design department.
